It depends on what you're looking for. Volume punch, more distortion, different tone.... The list goes on. Be more specific and we'll narrow it down.

I heard that ED-1(Marshall Edvard the Compressor) is good for solos...
It adds a lot of sustain to solos, and its good for geting rid of unwanted peaks+n+ troughs!
