Well I started smoking weed this last summer and have been smoking for a while now and just about everytime I smoke I play guitar just sit there and play for 2 hours. Iam alot better at guitar while I'm high for some reason and alot more creative.

Who else does this and what are some fun things to play while high?

B7..my 1st reaction to this post was to delete it !!!.. then i thought i'd wait & see what others might have to say on this subject...as you can tell, it didn't interest anyone !!...i don't condone the use of drugs or alcohol...anything that takes over & alters ones conciousness is not a good thing........as for you being alot better and more creative ??....well, maybe...but more than likely, its the drug that is altering your perceptiveness and fooling you into believing you are better than you actually may be.
...i wholeheartedly encourage you to reconsider your decision to do drugs and to continue to play your guitar ....you will be better off.

From my experience, When your high or drunk or stoned or whatever, You ALWAYS think you play beter than you really do.

Record yourself sometime.....................Enlighten yourself.

caveat; I have not done ANY drugs since 1986

Booze is the corner stone of being a lead guitar player...my Father has been a moderatley High-End Gigging Blues Lead Guitar player for the last 35 Years (he's 50 now...) & I can honestly say that I've never seen ANYONE drink the way he can...I watched him one night chug-back 1/2 a fifth of Jack Daniels Old No. 7 Whiskey, get up - PLAY A SET (RIGHT AFTER Slugging back like enough whiskey to like Kill a small woman)...Finish the Set, slug the OTHER 1/2 Fifth, do *ANOTHER* Set 10 minutes later. Now...I really couldn't "appreciate" that at that perticular point in time (I was 13 when I saw him do this)...but when I tried to do something similar (At my Ex-Girlfriend's Friend Nichole's After-Prom party...I chuged the Jack Daniels 3 times [Slug-Slug-Slug] got ABSOLUTELY TANKED & I got Alcohol poisoning wiked bad & almost killed myself because I Refused the 911 call/Hospital visit, got wiked tired & would have passed-out in my sleep, puked, & pulled a Jimi Hendrix & choked to death on it, BUT my woman was real Sober, Real Sexy...HaHa especially after a reasonable ammount of Whiskey : ) & Real smart & she dragged me into my '78 Camaro Z-28 drove to Dunkin' Donuts in it & bought me a "Box 'O Joe" which I drank ALL of in under a half hour...As I hear it...I don't clearly remember ANY of this...All I remember Is trying to explain to her how to drive my Z28 because it was a 4-Speed & she couldn't drive a stick...but after like 15 minutes of her trying to figure out how a Clutch worked before I told her to just stick it to the floor, floor the gas & dump the clutch & the try to explain to her how to power-shift it to Dunkin' Donuts (she figured out how to shift with the clutch but long story short...I needed a new clutch 2 weeks later)

(wow, I really Rambled On & On there...I appologize)
Eddie Van Halen got arrested because he broke into a Package Store after a show one night, stole like a couple of Keg or like a bunch of 30-Racks or something...& he got thrown in jail for a while because of that (so I hear...the Record Company couldn't buy his way out of it...the Package store owner was so pissed that he pressed charges against Eddie)

same experience - not saying "YOU CANNOT SMOKE OR DRINK", just saying you might consider doing it AFTER you played - preferably in the comfort of your home, that way you don't have to drive home anymore Cool

Ah the youth of tomorrow,I wont bother telling you not to smoke or do drugs, thats a lesson you have to learn for yourself.I will tell you how many musician friends I have lost to drugs and booze,to many.
Like it was said before you may have started with a good sound when you were stoned, but as always you continue and next thing you know you think you are playing something that sounds great to you,but makes no sense to the people you are playing for,go to a concert where the front guy is drunk or stoned and you'll get pissed that you just spent all that money to hear that chump and you cant tell what the hell he is singing or saying.
So just think about it,and remember that it is all about the music and nothing more.louis Shocked
