Picking Pattern

I've done some research on a song by Montgomery Gentry called Tatoos and Scars. I've come up with the Chords (3 basic C, Am, F) The issue that I'm having being a beginner is that through this song it sounds as if he is picking the strings. I cannot find a picking pattern out here any where and I am unable to pick it up by ear. Can someone give me some help
