Yeah, and plus the fact that my idol (at the time), Eddie Van Halen, played a maple neck.

On strats I gotta go with a maple neck....seems brighter in my experience.

I am a huge Fender nut and the other night when I was shopping for eqiupment I can across this.....

www.moodystraps.com

The company is giving away a Custom Shop Strat.....fingers crossed.

Peace

That's wierd, Hendrix. I've never heard you say that before. Are you sure you always say it?

I like rosewood because I find I'm faster with it. I know lots of folks say maple is faster but I disagree. Maple gets gooey feeling and makes me feel sticky. Prolly due to the clear coat. The dry bare wood of the rosewood board leaves me feeling free to move around unhindered.

i like rosewood, i would like to try ebony as well, but for my other guitar, it's a maple neck, and i scalloped the 17th-22nd frets, didn't relaquer, like it better like this, also sanded the back of the neck, much smoother and faster.

Yikes! Sindlei!

You removed the finish on your neck? That seems like a brave move to me. Did you oil it or anything? You know, like swedish oil or mineral oil? What kinda guitar we talking about here?
