| I recently bought an Epiphone Les Paul 100 with a bolt on neck. I'm pretty happy with it but i'm having second thoughts as to whether i should have spent the extra $250 to get a higher model epiphone with a set neck.. so anyhow i just want to hear other people's opinions about the Les Paul 100. |

I got my first electric a year ago from one of my dad's friends. It's an Epiphone 100 and here's what I've found.
The Bad: The strap holders are really lame. If I'm moving or jumping around the least bit I start to worry that the guitar will fall. The switch was kind of touchy until I re-sautered it. The cord input gets a little loose but this is a pretty easy fix. It's not the same tone quality I think I could have gotten from a Strat for roughly the same amount of money, but I play more Hendrix than Zeppelin.
The Good: The separate knobs for rhythm and treble add a lot of diversity. It has some of the smoothest action I've seen for under $1000. If your into heavy stuff it can do it, in my opinion, better than an Ibanez S series (my friend has one.) And it's pretty sexy to look at. |

My first electric was a LP 100, I then upgraded to a LP standard. Then, i got the hibby jibbys and bought a GIBSON LP Studio. However, that 1200 dollar gibson had nothing on that little LP 100's action! That LP 100 was by far smoother then the gibson's action and much easier to play.
Oh well, just goes to show you the name brand isn't everything. Hey, ya live and learn. |

i have an epiphone lp 100, and im really happy with it, ive had it just under a year now and i love the way it sounds, i love the way its lighter than other epiphone les pauls or gibson les pauls.
i was taught on an epipohne les paul standard. and found it to be really heavy. a little hard to play seeing as i was a begginer. but sounded good. with the epiphone lp100 you get the great sound, plus it being easier to play and lighter |
