|
|
I have a 1992 Fender Esquire. I am lookin to replace the pick up for it. I really love emgs but i dont think its possible to install one in it. Is there any way. I was also wondering about my original pickup. There is only one pickup but yet i have a selector. Why is that. And does anybody know anything about this guitar. I cant seem to find info on it.

The Esquire has only one pickup based on the mid 50's Esquire. This is a standard size pickup and any tele pickup will fit. Including the EMG's. (good choice) THe selector switch engauged different capacitors to alter the tone by way of rolling off the highs.
Do yourself a favor and take the control panel off and look at it. It won't cost you a thing, and you will learn about it too.

| I've takin it apart and i see how the selector works, i just cant see how which wires go where. If i were to put an emg pickup in it, would i have to do some weird rewireing? Would i just have to get rid of the selector? If so, then is there some kind of replacement plate that i can put over the top so i dont have a hole? |

| If you can get emgs, they are the way to go. |
