Hello, Im searching for a new guitar that i will be performing with and i cannot decide between buying a Rickenbaker (650D i think it is) or a PRS guitar (Probly a soapbox, santana, or Tremonti). My price range is up to about 800, these guitars are in the low end of their brand names. I need you to give me some advice, hopefully from experience. Thank You |

| by the way i play similiar to my influences of beautiful rock from the likes of Tom Petty, Jethro Tull, but also i like the occasional Psychedelic twist of Phaser and delay effects and the spaced out trippy sounds from bands such as Pink Floyd and Incubus |

| Why Stuck with only those two brands?!? a PRS is Nothing more than a Status Symbol (in a matter of speaking...) for the same price as ANY P.R.S. you could get a really Rad Gibson Les Paul with a lot of Veriety to choose from JUST between Gibson Les Pauls... If It was my choice, I would get a guitar like Santana used At Woodstock in 1969; I have a VHS tape with the movie Crossroads on it, & right after the Head-Cutting Duel ends between Steve Vai & the Karate Kid (who's soundtrack in that duel was played by Ry Cooder) it Cuts to a recording of Carlos Santana playing Soul Sacrafice on a Maroon '60's Gibson SG with 2 Soapbar P-90 pickups...NOW THAT'S A SANTANA GUITAR!!! I have a '57 Les Paul Junior with one Dog Ear P-90 & that guitar is Absolutely AWESOME...that pickup has unbelieveable Tone, Heavenly Natural Sustain, It's just like the *GOD* Amongst mere *Mortal* Guitars... |
