|
|
| Hey, i have a 93 american fender strat. I haven't plaid it in 7 years, pulled it out the other day and i couldn't get any sound out of it (i know its not the amp/cable). I took it apart but didn't see any loose connections. Not sure what else it is, can anyone shed some light on this?? Thanks |

Did you find the trouble? Not many current posts here.
If you have EMG's or other active pickups, your battery could be dead.
Otherwise, when the jack itself has been tightened inside the cup, wires are sometimes loosened and break off, if it has spun. Since this is not in the pickguard area, some players tend to not look there. |

| If it's completely dead the first thing I'd check is pull the jack and make sure the plug is making contact. Then follow the connections to the pickguard (pos. to tab on tone control, and neg. to back of volume pot). 99.9% of the time you'll have found the problem by there. The last spot will be an open circuit in the switch. |
