I'm thinking about getting the Les Paul studio, can anyone shed some light on this guitar as far as if it is good or bad and why? Thank you

This I quote from a certain mister Nocaster off his own forum:

"Les Paul Standard vs Les Paul Studio:

Gibson Les Paul ws: http://www.gibson.com/products/gibson/lespaul/index.html

Binding is a time consuming process and it is the main constructional difference.

Tone-wise, the bodies and necks of all the carved maple topped versions are essentially the same.

While specs keep changing, the *current* differences are:

Studios:
top: carved maple (carved figured AA on Plus)
back: mahogany
pups: 490R/498T (Gibson’s modern classic, rock combo)
neck shape: 59 rounded

Standards:
top: carved AA maple
back: mahogany
pups: Burstbuckers (Gibson’s latest)
neck shape: 50's rounded or 60's slim taper

Classics:
top: carved maple
back: mahogany
pups: 496R/500T (Gibson’s hot ceramic combo)
neck shape: 1960 slim taper

NB. better grade maple and figured wood does not necessarily provide better tone.

I'm terribly sorry, I forgot to say that it was the Epiphone Les Paul studio, does that change what you said?

i have a gibson les paul studio its sweet good sound. I figure the epiphone is just cheaper and less quality. I like it cuz it has no locking neck so its easy to switch tuning
