I saw someone's reply about strat replacement pickups and how Hot Rails were a good choice for fat humbucking sound while preserving some of the classic look of single coils. I have that same issue with my strat: I too want fat tone with single-coil size. But what about the other Seymour Duncan models, Little '59, JB Jr, in addition to the Hot Rails? Hot Rails seems to be my pick tonally (I have to research a lot before I purchase) but I like the look of the other two. Are the tones similar enough to go with the ones I think look better?

look into several companies for this, there are seymour duncan hot and cool rails, EMG makes passive and active single coil replacements, that are stacked humbuckers, and dimarzio makes minibuckers that are the same size of a singlecoil but look like a miniature humbucker.
